INDIALANTIC, Fla. -- A Brevard County doctor was arrested Wednesday on charges of engaging in sexual activity with a minor.
VIDEO: Doctor Arrested On Sex Charges According to the Brevard County Sheriff's Office, Dr. John Gayden, 55, became intimate with the child on three separate occasions. Two of the incidents happened at Gayden's home office, and the third occurred at a hotel, deputies said.
Investigators said the girl was not a patient of Gayden's. He has been charged with procuring a person for prostitution and unlawful sexual activity with a minor.
Investigators said there may be other victims.
“There has been a lot said by witnesses in the case,” Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Tod Goodyear told Local 6 News partner Florida Today, adding that numerous Web sites are filled with rumor and innuendo regarding Gayden. “We’re getting information from a lot of different places.”
Deputies said Gayden was already under investigation after he was accused last month of stashing marijuana in a teenager's purse and asking her to expose herself. He was charged with several misdemeanors, including contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
