UPDATED: 6:31 pm EDT July 2, 2009

A trooper was injured after a traffic stop turned into a pursuit Thursday afternoon.

According to the Orange County Sheriff's Office, deputies were trying to pull over a Dodge Ram at Bonneville Road and Colonial Drive, but the vehicle would not pull over.

The car was stopped at Trevarthon Road near state Road 417 after a brief chase, which slipped across the Seminole County line and back into Orange County, deputies said.

The occupants of the vehicle ran into an empty trailer and were arrested, deputies said.

Deputies said they do not know why the occupants fled.

During the pursuit, a Florida Highway Patrol vehicle got into a traffic wreck and a trooper was injured. She was taken to Florida Hospital East with minor injuries.

Several streets had to be shut down during the chase.
