ORLANDO, Fla. -- The new Orlando events center and future home of the Magic won't be completed for another year, but the arena was open for a sneak peak on Thursday.

The events center, which is located off Interstate 4 in downtown Orlando, will hold 18,000 people for games, and 1,000 more for concerts, Magic Chief Operating Officer Alex Martins said.
Crews will begin installing the exterior metal next week, and the roof will be completed by the end of this year.
The events center will cost approximately $480 million by the time it is completed in fall 2010; a bargain compared to new arenas in other cities, Martins said.
"We're building at a great time, where the economy is, we're keeping construction businesses in business," Martins said.
