Deputy Hurt In 4-Car Turnpike Crash

ORLANDO, Fla. -- A 23-year-old Orange County sheriff's deputy is in serious condition after a four-car crash on Florida's Turnpike.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, Deputy Shane Dickens was conducting a traffic stop early Friday morning when a SUV driven by 32-year-old Christopher Schriefer veered onto the shoulder of the roadway and hit Dickens' patrol car.
The SUV bounced back into traffic and was then was sideswiped by a semi truck driven by 55-year-old Arturo Lopez, of Oak Creek, Wis., the FHP said.
Both Dickens, who was outside of his patrol car at the time of the crash, and the driver he had pulled over, 22-year-old Kerry Velasquez, were taken to an Orlando hospital with serious injuries.
Schriefer suffered minor injuries.
