Bicyclist Injured In Hit-And-Run

Victim In Critical Condition

A woman was critically injured after a driver hit her in the middle of an intersection and fled the scene, troopers said.

The incident happened on John Young Parkway and Americana in Orlando.

The woman, who was on a bike, was crossing John Young Parkway just after 10:30 p.m. Monday when she was hit.

Witnesses said the suspect got out of his car, took one look at the woman, and took off running.

Troopers called in Orange County K-9 units to search the area, but they found no sign of the driver.

Troopers are now working to see if there is any evidence inside the man's abandoned car that could lead them to him.

If he would have stopped, troopers said he would not face any charges, but because he fled he will be arrested if found.

The victim is in critical condition at Orlando Regional Medical Center.
