Brevard County Sheriff's deputies are searching for the suspects who shot off a gun at a house near two schools in Merritt Island.

Deputies said a man shot a gun into the air at a house on Sawyer Avenue, which is located near Gardendale Elementary and Merritt Island High School.

Gardendale Elementary was put on lockdown as of 11:30 a.m. The alert was lifted at 12:40 p.m. according to Brevard Public Schools.

Police said the suspect are described as young men dressed in black.

When police arrived to investigate, a group of people left the residence running in an unknown direction, police said.

A gun has been recovered.
