LAKE COUNTY, Fla. -

Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating an early Saturday morning accident that left two people with serious injuries.

Troopers said Trooper Gregory Reed was driving north on County Road 452 with a motorcycle driving behind him.

Reed started to turn into a dirt driveway when for unknown reasons, troopers said the driver of the motorcycle rear ended him.

The 46-year-old man, who troopers are not identifying at this time, and his passenger, 42-year-old Stacey Wells, were both ejected from the motorcycle.

The driver was listed in critical condition after being airlifted to Orlando Regional Medical Center, troopers said.

Wells was also airlifted to ORMC and troopers said she was listed in serious condition.

Troopers said Reed was not injured and the accident remains under investigation.
