2 injured in 5-vehicle crash on I-4 in Volusia County

Driver of stolen car ran from scene, FHP says

DELTONA, Fla. – Two people were injured early Wednesday in a five-vehicle crash on Interstate 4 in Volusia County, officials said.

The crash happened around 12:30 a.m. on I-4 westbound near the Dirksen Drive exit in Deltona, prompting officials to close the interstate for several hours.

Two people were taken to a hospital, but their conditions are not known.

The Florida Highway Patrol said one of the cars involved in the crash was stolen, and that driver ran from the scene.

No other details were immediately known.

An investigation is underway.
