2 killed in head-on collision in Indian River County

Others flown to the hospital with serious injuries

MELBOURNE, Fla. - Authorities say two people were killed at the scene of a head-on collision in Indian River County.

The Florida Highway Patrol reports that 42-year-old Magalys Hernandez was driving north on a two-lane road on Wednesday when she crossed into the southbound lane, crashing head-on into another car. Inside were 76-year-old Doyle McCullers and 73-year-old Narcia McCullers. Both died at the scene.

Hernandez was flown to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne with serious injuries. Another passenger was taken to a different hospital.

The crash is under investigation.
