MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash involving a motorcycle and a car along State Road 528 on Merritt Island that left two people seriously injured.
The crash, reported at 2:30 a.m. Thursday, happened on State Road 528 near the intersection of Banana River Drive.

The accident left the westbound lanes block for several hours as troopers arrived to investigate. Both motorcycle riders were airlifted to Holmes Regional Medical Center's trauma center in Melbourne.
The driver of the other vehicle involved refused medical care.
