Police are investigating a shooting that resulted in two men being shot on Tuesday afternoon.
The shooting occurred at 11 a.m. Tuesday at an apartment complex near the intersection of Dixon Boulevard and Fiske Boulevard.
According to Cocoa police, 25-year-old Quantavious Gilmore and 27-year-old John H. Stephens, III were both shot and airlifted to Holmes Regional Medical Center.
Witnesses told police that a vehicle entered the apartment complex and began shooting. A short time later, police said they received calls of shots fired on E Street in Cocoa. Police said an unoccupied vehicle was then struck on E Street. Thirty minutes later,
Police said an unoccupied vehicle was then struck on E Street. Thirty minutes later, Brevard County Sheriff's deputies spotted the suspect vehicle from E Street in Melbourne and conducted a felony stop on that vehicle, a Nissan Titan.
In the Nissan were four men and three firearms, including an AK-47, according to Cocoa police.
None of the men were arrested, however, police said the weapons were seized so officers can determine if they were used in the earlier crimes in the city.
Police believe these shootings may be retaliatory for a shooting that occurred about 3 weeks ago in the area of 805 N. Fiske Boulevard.
At this time, Cocoa police said neither Gilmore nor Stephens is cooperating with officers.
