LAKE MARY, Fla. -

Deputies say one suspect is in custody after a robbery took place at the Chase Bank in the Lake Mary area of Seminole County.

The Seminole County Sheriff's Office said the robbery took place after 5:30 p.m. Friday.

After fleeing from the bank, the suspect, identified as 27-year-old Brian Weeks ran a red light to try and get on the interstate. Weeks then hit a red car and rolled over, trapping one of the men inside.

Weeks busted out the windshield and started running down the road, police said.

That's when a security guard, who was stopped at the light and saw the whole ordeal unfold, chased after him with a gun and was able to tackle Weeks to the ground.

Both men in the car were injured, but deputies said it is not known where they're being transported.

Deputies believe Weeks may be tied to another one in Winter Springs that happened Wednesday at another Chase bank.

Deputies said the second person the car was not charged with any crimes.
