ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -

Orange County deputies busted a man and woman accused of using a gun to rob a Burlington Coat Factory.

The armed robbery happened around 6 p.m. Monday at the Burlington Coat Factory on South Orange Blossom Trail near the Florida Mall.

Investigators have not released the suspects' names, but say no one was hurt in the incident.

"As the suspects were confronted on their way out of the store, the black male pulled his shirt up and actually showed a gun to the loss prevention officer," said Orange County sheriff's Lt. Paul Hopkins.

Local 6 was there as the man was taken into custody.  He denied having a gun.

"That man said we had a gun?," shouted the unidentified suspect. "Give me a lie detector test right now and I'll pay for it. A gun?"

Deputies said after the pair stole merchandise, the man and woman then got into a car and drove off. The vehicle was later spotted near Interstate 4 and John Young Parkway.

When the suspects finally pulled over, deputies said they found mounds of stolen merchandise in the vehicle. They also say the trunk was full of boxes and bags containing other stolen items.

"Looking at their criminal history, this is not their first time being arrested," said Hopkins.

Detectives are now working to see if the pair may be responsible for even more unsolved robberies.

In the meantime, the man insisted that investigators have it all wrong.
