Deputies said the vehicle's owner left the car running in the gas station's parking lot when a 15-year-old came to the store on his bicycle. The teen got into the car and took off.

The teen then picked up another 15-year-old and continued in the stolen vehicle before being spotted by deputies, the Sheriff's Office said.

Once they were spotted in Eustis, the two teens fled south on U.S. 441 for a brief time before bailing out on foot in the area of Donnelly Street in Mount Dora, deputies said.

Authorities searched the area for the teens. Deputies said they were found near Waycross Road.

The two teens were arrested and charged with grand theft auto and resisting arrest without violence, deputies said. They were taken to the Lake County Detention Center without incident.
