2-year-old boy drowns at Orlando apartment complex

Deputies investigate drowning

ORLANDO, Fla. – A toddler drowned Tuesday at an Orlando apartment complex, according to officials.

The drowning occurred around 1 p.m. at the Emerald Villas Apartments complex on Cholla Way.

Deputies said they were responding to a call of a missing endangered 2-year-old child when a short time later, a neighbor and an apartment complex worker found the boy in a nearby fenced-in pond.

The pair started to perform CPR on the boy and deputies took over. The boy, identified as Isaiah Gedeon, was rushed to Florida Hospital South, where he was pronounced dead.

Orange County deputies are still investigating what led up to the drowning. No other information was immediately available.
