Boy Fatally Shot After Knock On Door

Man Inside Daytona Beach Home Grazed By Bullet

A 13-year-old boy was shot in the face and killed at a Daytona Beach home Monday morning after a woman knocked on the door and asked a man inside the home about a meeting at a club, police said.

Lloyd Robinson Jr. was shot at about 4 a.m. at a home in the 200 block of Graham Street in Daytona Beach.

"You know, just the slightest glimpse of his picture, the smell on my clothes, it's just a total breakdown for me and I wish this pain on no parent," Lloyd Robinson Sr. said.

According to Daytona Beach Police Chief Mike Chitwood, someone knocked on the door of the home, and a woman said, "Do you remember me? I met you at a club."

A man inside the home told the woman to go to a side door, but another man appeared, firing two shots into the home, police said.

"They had got up to tell my daddy that somebody was at the door," said the victim's sister, Tytianna Johnson. "All I heard was like a gunshot."

One of the shots grazed Lloyd Robinson Sr. on the arm, and the second bullet struck 13-year-old Lloyd Robinson Jr. in his chin, Chitwood said.

"It's very sad that they would come to the house and shoot and kill a little boy -- nothing but a child -- who was 13 years old," said the victim's grandmother, Martha Hamilton.

"That is ridiculous. That (doesn't) make any sense that they had to kill a baby. He's just a baby," a neighbor said.

Police said Lloyd Robinson Sr. is a sex offender, but they do not believe that is related to the shooting.

The shooting happened the day after Lloyd Robinson Jr. was supposed to go back to his mother's house in Atlanta.

"No matter what color your skin is, a 13-year-old kid is dead somebody out there holds the keys that we need to unlock this to make an arrest," Chitwood said.
