Tourist From Spain Attacked By Shark

Man Bitten On Foot In Waters Off Ponce Inlet

A 26-year-old tourist from Spain was attacked and bitten by a shark Monday in the waters off Volusia County.

According to the Volusia County Beach Patrol, the man was swimming in the ocean in Ponce Inlet near Atlantic Avenue at about 7 p.m. when he was bitten on the foot.

The man was treated at the beach and did not go to the hospital.

The incident marks the seventh shark bite in Volusia County this year.
