Woman On Motorcycle Ejected In Crash

Vehicle Hit Motorcycle At 55 MPH, Orange Co. Fire Officials Say

A woman on a motorcycle was struck by a vehicle and thrown about 30 feet Monday morning along an Orange County road, fire officials said.

The woman, estimated to be in her 20s, was struck at about 6:30 a.m. on East Colonial Drive at Sherman Street. She was being airlifted to a nearby hospital with head and chest injuries, Orange County Fire Rescue officials said.

The vehicle was traveling at an estimated 55 mph when it collided with the motorcycle, Orange County Fire Rescue officials said.

Traffic is backed up in the area.
