A Eustis police officer shot a 62-year-old man at a shopping plaza on Monday after he took her Taser gun during a scuffle and shocked her, police said.

Eustis police said Officer Theresa Graham shot Ricky Mariani outside the Dollar Tree store at the Eustis Square shopping center.

According to Eustis police, Mariani went to the store to see his ex-girlfriend and got into an altercation with one of her co-workers.

Graham arrived and a scuffle ensued, police said. Mariani was able to grab Graham's Taser gun and shock her with it, but she was able to fire at least one shot at him, police said.

Mariani was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he was undergoing surgery, police said. Graham's condition was not released.

Roads in the area of state Road 19 and U.S. Highway 441 were closed, and an investigation into the shooting is under way.
