Man Believed Daughter Was Becoming Too 'Westernized,' Police Say

PHOENIX -- Police in Arizona are looking for a man suspected of running over his daughter and her friend in a parking lot,
Phoenix television station KPHO reported.
Peoria police said Faleh Hassan Almaleki, 48, ran over his daughter and her friend as they walked out of the Arizona Department of Economic Security.
Police said Faleh Almaleki was upset that his daughter had become too "westernized" and was not living according to their traditional Iraq values.
The victim, 20-year-old Noor Faleh Almaleki of Surprise, remains hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
The second victim, 43-year-old Amal Edan Khalaf, also of Surprise, suffered non-life threatening injuries. Police said the women are roommates
A witness said Almaleki was unconscious and bleeding from the nose; however, Khalaf was able to communicate.
"I asked her specifically, 'Do you know who did this?'" the witness said. "She said yes and gave a name."
Police said Faleh Almaleki was last seen driving a gray or silver 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee with license plate No. ADS-9192.
