ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Casey Anthony case is hitting the stage.

A play entitled "Tot Mom," staged by Oscar-winning director Steven Soderbergh, is scheduled to open Dec. 18 at the Sydney Theatre Company in Australia.

The show is formulated from transcripts from CNN's "Nancy Grace" show, in which Anthony is referred to as the "tot mom," along with court documents and police reports.

The play will run through Jan. 31.

Soderbergh, who wrote and directed the play, is known for directing films like "Erin Brockovich" and "Ocean's Eleven."

Australian actress Essie Davis will play the part of Nancy Grace, but the theater company has not yet announced who will play Casey Anthony in the stage version.

Anthony, 23, remains jailed on first-degree murder charges in the death of her daughter, Caylee, whose remains were found in December. Caylee was 2 years old when she was reported missing in the summer of 2008.

Anthony has pleaded not guilty, claiming that a baby sitter kidnapped Caylee.
