Residents in a Minnesota neighborhood were shocked to find a goose swimming around with an arrow completely through its body, according to a Local 6 News report.
Animal control workers were called to a pond in Eagan, Minn., Tuesday to help the goose get medical care.
After the bird was caught, it was taken to a wild life rehabilitation facility where doctors debated whether to cut the arrow or pull it out
The veterinarian decided the best option was to pull the arrow out. She hoped the arrow didn't go through any major organs.
The animal is expected to recover.
There is no word yet on who shot the unidentified goose.
A similar shooting happened in Central Florida earlier this month.
Residents in a Seminole County, Fla., neighborhood found a duck swimming in a pond with a 29-inch arrow completely through its body, according to Local 6 News.
Authorities said that the duck was apparently shot a close range at a pond near Hunt Club and then left to die.
"It just makes me very angry that somebody gets pleasure out of animal abuse," Hunt Club resident Valerie Luevarno told Local 6 News.
The duck in Florida recovered and was placed back in a pond.
Police never found the person who shot the duck, according to Local 6 News.
