ORLANDO, Fla. -- A 25-year-old man remains in critical condition on Monday after being shot in the chest amid a crowd of about 100 people gathered at an Orlando gas station, deputies said.
Kenneth Dean Stone was shot multiple times at about 9:10 p.m. Sunday behind the Shell gas station located on John Young Parkway just north of state Road 408.
Stone was with his girlfriend at the gas station, where large crowds often gather, Orange County sheriff's deputies said. The girlfriend told deputies that two black men in a silver or gold Altima drove up to them, got out of the vehicle and shot Stone multiple times.
"Some dudes just walked up to him and told him to 'give it up,' but they didn't take anything. They didn't take his necklace or anything. They're not even from here," a distraught woman said.
The motive for the shooting is unknown, and Stone was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center.
A detailed description of the men was not released.
