ORLANDO, Fla. -- The bad weather could create problems for millions of travelers this Thanksgiving holiday.
Interstate 95 has reopened south of Titusville after a crash that resulted in at least two injuries, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at mile marker 212 at about 12:15 p.m., and resulted in lanes being blocked from Ranchroad north toward Titusville. As of 4 p.m., FHP traffic reports no longer indicated any lane closures on I-95.
FHP said the motorist crossed into the southbound lane where she was hit almost head on. The motorist, described as being in her 80s, was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center by ambulance because weather prevented air transport.
The driver of the southbound vehicle was transported to Parrish Medical Center and was listed in stable condition.
"We've been running from crash to crash to crash today," said Lt. Channing Taylor, with the Florida Highway Patrol.
Channing said weather was definitely a factor.
"This is traditionally one of the busiest traffic days of the year," Channing said. "People need to use caution on the wet roads and to wear their seat belt."
Traffic is already piling up on other Central Florida highways as people head to visit their families and rain and fog are slowing down traffic.
Dennis Adams made the holiday trek with is family early to avoid traffic congestion.
"Not too bad, really, a little crowded in Orlando, but not too bad at all," Adams said.
Troopers warned drivers with cars packed with family members and luggage to check their tire pressure to avoid blowouts.
Air travelers may also face delays due to the bad weather.
