ORLANDO, Fla. -- An Orlando video game store clerk was shot Monday even though he or she complied with an armed robber's demands, deputies said.
According to the Orange County Sheriff's Office, a man entered the Game Stop, located at 2781 N. Hiawassee Road, at about 10:15 a.m., pulled out a handgun and demanded money from the clerk.
A preliminary investigation shows that the clerk gave the culprit money and video games, but he still shot the clerk in the lower torso, deputies said.
The clerk was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The assailant was described as a black man about 6 feet tall, about 225 to 245 pounds and 35 to 40 years. He was wearing baggy blue jeans, a dark-colored scarf over his face and a black Nike baseball hat.
Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
