Deputies: Man Attacked, Stabbed Ex

Suspect Charged With Attacking Same Woman 4 Months Ago

POSTED: Tuesday, December 29, 2009
UPDATED: 6:53 am EST December 30, 2009

Deputies are searching for a man who is accused of mutilating, stabbing and beating his ex-girlfriend and her boyfriend.

The attack occurred on Bluegrass Street, just off Edgewater in the Lockhart area just after midnight on Tuesday. The Sheriff's Office said a 4-year-old, reportedly the daughter of the 36-year-old female victim, Mariah Mace, was inside the home at the time of the attack.

Mace returned home from the hospital Tuesday evening. She had a large bandage on her hand and when asked about how she and her boyfriend were doing, she said, "Not good."

Orange County deputies said the suspect, John Patrick Crimins, is very dangerous. They used the Sheriff's Office's helicopter and K-9 units to search for Crimins most of Tuesday morning, but have not located him.

Deputies said they believe Crimins, 38, came to his ex-girlfriend's house and cut her hands severely, possibly cutting off some of her fingers. He then stabbed the new boyfriend and beat him with a baseball bat, deputies said. The male victim also had cuts on his hands.

Both victims were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

Crimins was arrested in August and charged with domestic battery. He was accused of attacking the same woman at the same house as Tuesday's attack.

"I know the last time that he hurt her and he had went to jail, he promised to come back and kill her," Billie Wilson, a friend of the female victim, said.

Crimins' car was found at a nearby 7-Eleven.

"She has a good heart. She would never hurt anybody. She has never been in trouble with the law," Wilson said." To think of him doing something like that to her, I think that he's a coward."
