ORLANDO, Fla. -- A well-known Orlando attorney is speaking out against the possible drop of Fox programming on Bright House the same day the Florida Gators play in the Sugar Bowl.
John Morgan said it would be a crime for Gator fans to miss the Sugar Bowl, and Tim Tebow's final game as a Gator, over a contract dispute between Fox and Bright House.
Morgan, a UF alum, said he is filing a motion for an injunction that would force Fox and Bright House to extend their current deal past New Year's Eve so fans can see the game.
"Once this three hours passes, it can never be undone. The genie can never go back in the bottle," Morgan said.
Morgan said Fox is not acting in the public's best interest as required by law.
Fox wants more money from Bright House, but Bright House said no, because the cable company wants to keep costs low for customers.
If a deal isn't worked out, Central Florida will miss out on more than just the Sugar Bowl.
Sun Sports would also be pulled off Bright House; meaning Magic fans would miss half the team's games.
FX and Fox Movie Channel would also be dropped if the contract issue is not resolved. The contract ends on Thursday.
