World's Oldest Person Turns 116

In terms of a birthday celebration, it was an improvement on last year. Kamato Hongo, the world's oldest person, turned 116 yesterday and, unlike last year, stayed awake for the big day.

She is famous in Japan for sleeping for two days, and then staying awake for two.

An Internet home page devoted to her lists unrefined brown sugar as her favorite snack. It also gives out her secret to long life -- "not moping around."

The world's oldest documented man is also Japanese. He's 114.
