Police: Central Fla. Man Killed Over Loud Music

POSTED: 10:48 p.m. EDT October 11, 2003
UPDATED: 5:37 a.m. EDT October 13, 2003

A 24-year-old man in Kissimmee, Fla., was shot and killed after a dispute over loud music playing inside of his apartment, according to Local 6 News.

Kissimmee police officers said the victim, Leonardo Jaramillo, was standing outside of his Calusa Apartment front door when his neighbor, Matthew Baillargeon, came over and complained about the music being too loud.

A fistfight ensued and Baillargeon was hit in the head with a beer bottle.

Investigators said Baillargeon left the apartment and went to Michael Cohen's (pictured, left) apartment.

Baillargeon and Cohen returned to Jaramillo's apartment. Another argument started. Cohen pulled out a handgun and began shooting at Jaramillo and his brother, David.

The Jaramillo brothers ran into their apartment closing the door behind them. Police said Cohen continued firing multiple shots through the front door. Several shots struck Leonardo and David.

"He (Cohen) was enraged and he was mad and he was shooting at them," Kissimmee Police spokesman Chris Durham said.

When officers arrived at 2114 Ketch Drive they found Leonardo Jaramillo had been shot several times in his torso and once in his leg. He died at the hospital.

Jaramillo's brother David Jaramillo was shot in the foot and is listed in fair condition.

Cohen was charged with murder, aggravated battery with a firearm and two counts of shooting into an occupied building.

Cohen is being held at the Osceola County Jail on no bond.
