Video Shows Youth League Coaches, Umpire Brawl
Two youth league coaches in Tyler, Texas, were cited for disorderly conduct for a brawl that was caught on tape by a fan in the stands, according to a Local 6 News report.
Police said a scuffle between coaches and an umpire erupted into a fistfight at Tyler's Faulkner Park last week. The video shows shows, father and son coaches Melton and Adam Smith grabbing an umpire after a brief argument.Tyler Police Department Lt. Tom Giorgio said they've responded to cases where parents threatened umpires. But Giorgio said this is the first time that they've responded to a case where coaches got into a fight with the umpires.No one was seriously hurt.The two coaches and the umpire involved in the altercation declined to comment.Watch Local 6 News for more on this story.
