A small boat that disappeared off the Gulf Coast Oct. 17 with three people aboard washed up on a Cape Canaveral beach Monday in the lastest twist of a mystery that has baffled the Coast Guard for weeks.
The Coast Guard is trying to determine how the 24-foot vessel, "What's Left," wound up on the Atlantic side of Florida after leaving Naples on Oct. 17 on an overnight fishing trip.
Gary Lisk, 61, Neil Eddleman, 47, and his son, Neil Alan Eddleman, 13, were scheduled to return from their fishing trip Oct. 18. Family members called the Coast Guard on Oct. 19 when they remained missing.
The Coast Guard searched 130,000 square miles of the Gulf of Mexico at a cost of $1.6 million before suspending its search Oct. 24.
The investigation has included discussions with Cuba, Mexico and the Bahamas, according to a report.
