Lawmen in Austin, Texas, lassoed a runaway ostrich Monday after authorities chased the bird for hours in a neighborhood, according to a Local 6 News report.
Residents noticed the bird roaming their neighborhood early Monday and called police. However, when officers were unable to capture the ostrich, the sheriff's department responded.
After a few attempts, lawmen were able to lasso the ostrich and move it into a truck.
The ostrich was reportedly safe and unhurt.
The animal is resting at a local petting zoo while officials try to locate its owner, Local 6 News reported.
