Thousands of sheep ran through the streets -- and into some buildings -- of a small New Zealand town in an unusual version of Pamplona's famed "running of the bulls," according to a Local 6 News report.
The sheep were allowed to run as part of the New Zealand Shearing Championships at Te Kuiti, New Zealand. The event features the country's top farmers trying to out do each other in removing a sheep's fleece.
During the run before the shearing, several rebellious sheep veered off the planned route and ran amok in the town. The animals ran into nearby shops and buildings and overwhelmed people inside.
Despite the incident, organizers are considering making it a regular feature of the shearing competition.
