3 arrested in Brevard beachside robbery

Cocoa Beach police say metal bar used in attack

COCOA BEACH, Fla. – Cocoa Beach police say they arrested three suspects who attacked and robbed two people returning from the beach early Wednesday morning.

According to Local 6 News partner Florida today, the victims told police they were coming back from the beach at the end of Sixth Street South around 2 a.m. when they were attacked by three people who got out of a nearby parked car. Cocoa Beach police Major Jay Harmon said the attack appeared to be random.

"One of the subject brandished a metal bar that was used as a weapon," he said.

The victims suffered minor injuries, and the suspects tried to flee but were caught.

Jason Bissett, 30, of Titusville, and Lonna Cupac, 28, of Cocoa, were arrested and charged with armed robbery. They were taken to Brevard County jail.

Cedric Levatt, 17, of Cocoa Beach, was taken to juvenile detention on the robbery charge.
