3 caught after South Florida police chase

Burglary suspects reached speeds of over 100 mph

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – WPLG reported that police took three men into custody Tuesday following a chase from Collier County to Broward County.

Sky 10 picked up the chase in the Melrose Park neighborhood in Fort Lauderdale about 11:20 a.m. Tuesday. Three men got out of the Chrysler 200 and ran minutes later at Northwest 8th Court and 33rd Way.

Police took all three into custody shortly afterwards.

According to BSO, those inside the vehicle were wanted for burglary of an occupied dwelling.

The driver reportedly reached speeds up to 100 mph on Alligator Alley.

Two Fort Lauderdale police cruisers and another car were involved in a crash at Northwest 27th Avenue and 6th Street. The injuries of those involved weren't immediately released.
