3 in custody after two-county chase

Men take off after armed robbery, says police

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando police said three people are in custody after an armed robbery led to a two-county chase Saturday morning.

Police said they were called to 801 East Washington Street after a man said he was robbed and hit with a gun.

The victim told police a man approached, hit him over the head with a gun, then fired a shot over his head before fleeing with his wallet.

Police said that suspect, along with two other men, fled in a black Ford Focus.

Police found the suspect car at John Young Parkway and Princeton Road and when they tried to initiate a traffic spot, authorities said the driver took off.

Police said they were led up Silver Star Road to Hiawasee Road into Longwood, where the driver fled on State Road 436.

The suspects drove into the Forest Lake Academy property where police said the car got stuck in a marshy area.

Police said assistance was provided by multiple agencies including Orange and Seminole County police helicopters, Longwood and Altamonte Springs officers and K-9 Units from all agencies.

Police searched for almost 3 hours before all three men matching the description of the suspects were picked up by Seminole County deputies.

All three are being questioned and police said no names are being released at this time.
