ORLANDO, Fla. - Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs teamed up with school crossing guards on Friday morning in honor of "School Crossing Guard Appreciation Day."
Jacobs assisted students near Conway Elementary School, helping students cross at Lake Margaret Driven near the school entrance.
More than 300 school crossing guards in Orange County were honored as part of the day.
Jacobs said she wants to remind motorists to drive safely and allow extra time to their commute particularly during peak school start and end times
