A 40-year-old mother in Osteen, Fla., whose children were found living with human and animal feces piled on the
floors and sleeping with dirty dogs, has lost her custody battle, according to Local 6 News.

A judge terminated June Edmonds' parental rights Monday.
The Volusia County Sheriff's Office discovered Edmonds' home, located on 547 Thistle Drive, after a complaint was made in September to the Department of Children and Families abuse hotline.
Investigators told Local 6 News that the condition that Edmond's had her children living in was not only unsanitary but also "criminal."
The four children, who range in age from 2 to 13, were found in the house in soiled clothes. Police said three dogs were sleeping in a urine-soaked playpen with a 2-year-old baby girl. Roaches and other insects were also found under and in her crib. Several other dogs were found on a dirty bed where the other children likely slept, Local 6 News reported.
Edmonds' kitchen and living room floors were covered in human and dog feces, and there was a portable toilet in the kitchen with no running water, Local 6 News reported.
All four children -- the baby girl and three boys, ages 4, 10 and 13 -- were turned over to DCF custody.
Edmonds is now awaiting sentencing on criminal charges and faces up to 25 years for child neglect.
