Clear Channel Radio has silenced the popular "Monsters of the Morning" talk show on Orlando's 104.1 FM over racial comments made on the air, according to Local 6 News.
The "Monsters" radio team, featuring Russ Rollins and Dirty Jim, was sidelined after complaints came in from Sarasota, Fla., Local 6 News reported.
Clear Channel released a statement saying the crew was suspended.
"Sometimes mistakes are made, when that happens we take swift and appropriate action to correct them," according to the statement.
The crew must reportedly complete sensitivity training before returning to the air.
The latest radio controversy comes at a time with the Federal Communications Commission is extra sensitive to aired content, Local 6 News reported.
Earlier this year, the FCC fined Clear Channel $755,000 for decency violations after comments made by Tampa shock jock Bubba The Love Sponge.
The controversial but popular Howard Stern show is making a comeback in Central Florida. Clear Channel dropped the show last spring for "indecent material" and replaced Stern's time slot with the "Monsters of the Morning."
Now, Stern will resurface in Orlando on Infinity Broadcasting 105.1 O-Rock and compete for the same time slot.
The "Monsters of the Morning" crew should be back on air in time for Stern's debut, Local 6 News reported.
Officials said "best-of" Monsters shows are now being aired on 104.1 FM.
