Three masked men armed with handguns robbed a Deltona grocery store Wednesday night, according to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.
Witnesses told deputies that the men entered through the front doors of the Food Lion located at 1382 Howland Blvd. and immediately went to two nearby registers. The men allegedly pointed their guns at the cashiers and customers and demanded money from the registers.
Two of the men then reportedly forced a victim to the store's office and demanded money from the till and safe. An employee in the main store area ran out of the building through a door that activated the fire alarm. The alarm apparently spooked the men, who all immediately fled.
There were about 13 customers and employees who witnessed the incident, but no shots were fired and no one was injured.
