Two Central Florida teenagers face serious charges for allegedly making threats against an elementary school, according to Local 6 News.
Administrators at Lake Weston Elementary School intercepted conversations on walkie-talkie radios between two boys who were reportedly threatening to kidnap students and blow up the cafeteria, Local 6 News confirmed Wednesday night.
"These kids were saying they were snipers, that they were going to shoot teachers (and) not to call police," Orange County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Crystal Candy said. "When the police arrived, they got on radios and said 'we told you not to call the police.'"
After the alleged threats were heard, teachers and students were evacuated to a nearby church as deputies searched for the boys.
Two boys, 14 and 16 years old, were taken into custody after approaching deputies and saying they witnessed other students talking on a radio.
Police found three stolen walkie-talkies after searching the boys' apartments, according to the report.
The boys face several charges, including making a false bomb report.
