WINTER SPRINGS, Fla. -

The state attorney’s office has formally charged for the four people on Friday who they say is responsible for the fatal shooting at a Veterans of Foreign War post in Winter Springs in September with second degree murder and attempted first degree murder.

Victor Amaro, 41; Robert Eckert, 38; David Maloney, 52; and Paul Smith, 47; have been charged with second degree murder and attempted first degree murder. Police originally were holding the men on charges of attempted homicide and homicide before the state attorney's office made their official charging.

They also face charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, according to the court report.

According to police, the charity poker run was scheduled to start in Winter Springs and would have ended in Sanford on Sunday afternoon. Police said some attendees were from the Pennsylvania-based Warlocks motorcycle club, which had a few members come to Florida to establish a chapter in Seminole County and is not associated with the original Florida Warlocks club.

Harold Liddle and Peter Schlett died at the VFW and David Jakiela died at the hospital from his injuries.
