PALM BAY, Fla. – Palm Bay police are looking for four people believed to be breaking in to homes in broad daylight and stealing high-end electronics, jewelry and credit cards.
2 males and 2 females have burglarized more than a dozen homes in the southeast area of Palm Bay., police said.
Surveillance video shows the group walk into Target and purchase items with a credit card -- a card police believe was stolen out of one multiple homes they burglarized.
Police said the culprits first knock on a person's front door and if no one answers, they go around back and break-in through a window or door. Investigators say they usually break-in during daytime hours when most folks are at work.
"My mom was actually looking for security windows back there because we don't feel safe anymore knowing this is happening around here," said Palm Bay resident Eskara Bargas.
Some residents say they've been hearing about break-ins in the neighborhood, but never suspected there would be as many victims as there are.
Now, some say, they will be more aware of their surroundings.
"I'm going to lock it up and keep my eye out for suspicious activity," said resident Richard Held.
Police want residents to report any suspicious activity or vehicles they see in the area.
So far police say the burglaries have occurred in the following areas: Cornelia Avenue SE, Richardson Street SE, San Filippo Drive SE, Tompkins Avenue SE, Toluca Street SE, Croquet Avenue NE, Ashcroft Street NW, Welco Street SE, Tidewell Street SE, Cogan Drive SE, Esterbrook Avenue SE, Sagbloom Street NE, Vin Rose Circle SE, Talleyrand Street SE.
