ORLANDO, Fla. -- A small plane crashed into a utility pole while trying to make an emergency landing on a golf course Tuesday, killing one person and injuring the other aboard.
Sky 6 video showed the Cessna 172 plane making a descent on the golf course at about 5 p.m. and then hitting a power pole near the clubhouse at Par Street and Edgewater Drive. The plane's wing was seen snapping off and landing in a neighborhood.

The plane's pilot reported a loss of oil pressure then tried to put the Cessna 172 down at Dubsdread Golf Course, north of downtown Orlando. Witnesses said that the plane's engine stopped as it approached the golf course.
One man on board, Dan Lawlor, 33, died in surgery at Orlando Regional Medical Center after suffering head and chest injuries, police spokesman Sgt. Brian Gilliam said. He was a flight instructor at Showalter Flying Service in Orlando.
Another Showalter pilot, Steve Schieber, 26, was in fair condition. The two friends had taken the plane out for a pleasure flight, Gilliam said.
Sky 6 filmed bystanders pulling one of the victims from the wreckage and dragging him away from the plane and on to a golf course green.
Power was cut to about 900 customers, Orlando Utilties Commission spokesman Sheridan Becht said. Most had their service restored within 45 minutes.
The plane had been bound for Orlando Executive Airport, about eight miles away.
The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board plan to investigate.
