A woman in Kissimmee, Fla., has been charged with aggravated child abuse after allegedly confessing to throwing her 1-year-old to the ground and breaking his legs, according to a Local 6 News.

Investigators said Ariel Dankert's 1-year-old son was playing with his sister in January when he was injured.

"While they were in this bedroom, they were making some sort of mess -- apparently they had scattered around some video games," Kissimmee police spokesman Ralph Herrera said.

Dankert, 22, (pictured, left) allegedly became enraged over the mess and threw the child to the ground.

"In the course of bringing the 1-year-old child out, she was carrying the child on the hip and intentionally threw the child down," Herrera said.

Dankert took the child to the emergency room after the incident but denied harming the child.

"The force that was necessary to cause this kind of injury was equivalent to that of a two-story drop," Herrera said.

Later, a tip to the Department of Children and Families prompted an investigation and more injuries were discovered, Local 6 News reported.

"A skeletal X-ray survey had discovered an additional break to the other leg, the opposite leg and a fractured rib."

The boy continues to recover from his injuries.
