Mulvaney: Mayor Dyer Needs To Step Down
Mulvaney is also calling on Gov. Jeb Bush to appoint a temporary replacement to a suspended Mayor Dyer.Last March, Mulvaney lost the mayor's race to Dyer by a thin margin -- Dyer avoided a runoff election by just 234 votes.Mulvaney believes that 290 of those votes should be thrown out."The evidence we've collected in the last year proves that there was fraud in the election, which we have stated all along," Mulvaney said. " And the process in which these absentee ballots were collected in District 5 and 6 in the election was illegal."As part of a civil lawsuit, Mulvaney is asking Judge Theotis Bronson to order a runoff election. Bronson could rule on the matter as early as Tuesday.Mulvaney's civil case has been delayed many times because of the ongoing criminal case -- and it could be delayed again, Local 6 News reported.Watch Local 6 News for more on this story.
