A car possibly traveling 100 mph slammed into the back of a tow truck Monday night, killing two people on the Beeline Expressway in Orange County, Fla., according to Local 6 News.
Police said a black Honda sports coupe was traveling eastbound on the expressway near the 520 when it hit the back of a tow truck driven by Everland Morrison.
Morrison was transporting a woman to Merritt Island at the time of the crash.
"I hit my head and my passenger became hysterical," Morrison said. "I was concerned about her because she was screaming. So, I calmed her down and tried to control the truck because it was going over the bridge."
The driver of the Honda car and a woman died at the scene. Their names were not released but they were from Brevard County, Local 6 News reported.
The passenger in the tow truck was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The Florida Highway Patrol said speed was likely a factor in the crash and the car may have been traveling at speeds of 100 mph, Local 6 News reproted.
The Beeline Expressway was closed Monday night but reopened early Tuesday.
