Several KKK outfits sold for about $600 each.

"We don't do it to be derogatory or anything like that, it's just our culture and we enjoy it," customer Tammie Campbell said.

According to auctioneers, a black family in Ettrick owned the KKK hoods and robes.

A hood purchased at the sale will reportedly be on display at an African-American museum in Atlanta, Ga.

Auctioneers were concerned how the public would react to the sale but believe the robes and hoods brought in the largest crowd.
