Fireworks Tossed In Passing Car's Window

Police in Titusville, Fla., are searching for whoever tossed lit fireworks into a passing car, causing it to become engulfed in flames, according to Local 6 News partner
Florida Today .
Police said the device was thrown into a car at about 6 p.m. Monday in front of a home on DeLeon Avenue. The driver jumped out as flames burned through the interior, an official told
Florida Today.
The fire melted the tires, peeled away the paint and burned until firefighters arrived from their station about a mile away, according to the report..
"It's still an ongoing investigation but some fireworks were thrown into an occupied vehicle," Scott Gaenicke, the spokesman for the Titusville Police Department. "Once the interior gets going, it accelerates fairly quickly."
No one was injured in the incident.
Titusville police are investigating the incident.
