ORLANDO, Fla. -- Some transportation workers in Orange County, Fla., are on strike Monday after accusing Disney of stealing their profits, according to a Local 6 News report.
Dozens of Mears drivers are protesting in Orlando after the company kicked in its high season rate.
The drivers now pay $850 a week to lease cars to provide taxi service. However, employees said since Disney's Magical Express started its free shuttle service from Orlando International Airport, the driver's profits have dwindled.
They argue that Mears should not have raised its rates.
"The program is all about business and there is no business out there," protester Ouckson Exhume said. "You want to increase the rate, then give us business."
Local 6 News tried to contact Mears management by phone but they would not comment on Monday's protest.
